MaxCharge™ Induction Charging Nozzle Technology

Microbecide® electrostatic sprayers and ESS electrostatic sprayers spray wand utilizes patented MaxCharge™ induction charging nozzle technology. The MaxCharge™ nozzle incorporates pneumatic atomization, and a low voltage, induction charging technique, coupled with air assistance, to atomize and electrostatically charge sprayed coatings. The patented nozzle design was developed at the University of Georgia, USA; the University holds the patent on the MaxCharge™ nozzle design.

Microbecide® TC-320 Electrostatic Sprayer

Powerful, compact and quiet, the Microbecide® TC-320 is the result of more than two years of development working with Microbecide® Partners and customers to address the unique needs found in applyingTi02 and Silver Ion (Ag+) water-based antimicrobial coatings. The Microbecide® TC-320 electrostatic sprayer is optimized for water-based coatings,designed for continuous operation and engineered specifically for spraying aggressive oxidizing agents such as TiO2. The TC-320 electrostatic sprayer is simple to operate and easy to move about. With a spray range of over three meters, the TC-320 connects directly to a supplier´s liquid coating container through an O-ring sealed, thumb-push, quick disconnect connector. The TC-320 incorporates a quiet, smooth operating, pump to deliver a consistent flow of coating liquid from the liquid container to the spraygun nozzle. This eliminates transferring the coating liquid to a tank, possibly introducing contaminates, and allows the unused coating material to remain clean and uncontaminated in the supplier´s container. Coating liquid is drawn directly from the liquid coating container. Constant pressure is applied by the pump to the spray (liquid) output line, similar to the pressure applied to the water line in your home. The pressurized liquid line insures a constant and consistent liquid flow through the sprayer hose to the spraygun nozzle, even when the spraygun is lifted overhead to spray ceilings, high window tops and the upper portion of walls.

The flow rate of coating liquid is operator adjustable, with the flow rate valve and the large, easy to read flow rate gauge panel-mounted in the case. The TC-320 allows the operator to accurately control the rate of flow of coating liquid delivered to the spraygun nozzle from 20ml per minute up to a stream flowing at a rate of 14.4 litres per hour.

Clean up is thorough, quick and easy. Chrome plated, thumb push, quick connectors allow the operator to easily disconnect from the supplier´s coating container and reconnect to a flush container filled with water or liquid cleaner. The operator needs only to apply power to the TC-320, trigger the spraygun and fully open the flow valve to thoroughly flush out the pump, hose, spraygun and nozzle.

The enclosure hardware and integral components of the TC-320 and of the spraygun are constructed of stainless steel. All of the TC-320 liquid and air connectors are chrome plated, O-ring sealed, thumb-push connectors, for greater corrosion resistance. Grounding straps of the air and liquid lines further enhance the electrostatic charge of the liquid spray. A larger, higher volume exhaust fan in the case ensures continuous operation even in warm, humid environments. The 3/4 HP compressor provides increased air flow volume, extending the spray range and reducing the formation of droplets at the nozzle. The TC-320 power cord plugs into a standard 220VAC electrical power outlet (110VAC optional).

The TC-320 is small, inconspicuous and easy to move about. The case is two-wheeled, with stainless steel bearings and a retractable extension handle. The RoHS compliant case is non-conductive and highly chemical resistant. The circuit breaker protected, on/off switch is mounted at the side of the case, for easy operator access. The TC-320 dimensions are 56cm X 41cm X 25cm. Weighing only 27 Kg, the TC-320 quickly increases operator productivity and significantly reduces application costs.

Electrostatic Spraying Systems Inc (ESS) Back Pack Electrostatic Sprayer

The ESS BP2 back pack electrostatic sprayer is ideal for areas such as vehicles, public transportation, halls, stairwells and other areas that have limited access to electrical outlets. The self contained unit, comfortable and extremely efficient, has a spray range of up to 1.5 meters. The BP2 spray wand connects directly to a 1.0 litre nalgene bottle through an O-ring sealed, thumb-push, quick disconnect connector. The BP2 utilizes the vacuum created by the air flow at the spray wand nozzle outlet to siphon coating liquid from the bottle at the back pack. No pressure is applied to the spray (liquid) line.

The rate of flow of the BP2 is not visibly indicated but is set to a predetermined rate of flow (approximately 75 - 80ml/min) by a selected flow disc. A flow disc is a small disc with an aperture (hole) in the center of the disc. The flow disc is located in the connector of the spray (liquid) hose which connects with the spray wand. The BP2 rate of flow of coating material can be changed by changing the flow disc. Flow discs with different aperture sizes for different rates of flow are available.

Clean up of the system and flushing of the liquid line hose and spray wand are accomplished by partially filling the bottle with water or liquid cleaner and engaging the trigger of the spray wand. Quick disconnect fittings allow the operator to disconnect the hose and the spray wand from the BP2 back pack. In the event the flow disc opening becomes clogged, the connector is disassembled to access the flow disc to clear the blockage. The BP2 operates from a standard 220VAC/50Hz household electrical power outlet (or optional 110VAC/60Hz). The BP2 can be equipped with a 24 volt lithium battery for operation of up to two hours before requiring re-charge of the battery. The BP2 back pack sprayer is 51cm X 35cm X 25cm and weighs 13.6 kg with an empty liquid bottle.

Electrostatic Spraying Systems Inc (ESS) XT-3 Electrostatic Sprayer

The ESS XT-3 is a versatile electrostatic sprayer equipped with a removable 11.4 litre (3 US Gal) stainless steel tank for coating liquid. The XT-3 provides a spray range of over three meters. Air from the XT-3 compressor is diverted through a pressure valve and gauge assembly to pressurize the stainless steel tank. The pressurized tank insures a constant and consistent liquid flow through the sprayer hose to the spraygun, even when the spraygun is lifted overhead to spray ceilings, high windows and the upper portion of walls.

The XT-3 rate of flow of coating liquid is not visibly indicated but is set to a predetermined rate of flow (approximately 130ml/min) by a selected flow disc. A flow disc is a small disc with an aperture (hole) in the center of the disc. The XT-3 flow disc is located in the connector of the spray (liquid) hose which connects with the spraygun. The rate of flow of coating material can be changed by changing the flow disc. Flow discs with different aperture sizes for different rates of flow are available.

In the event the flow disc opening becomes clogged, the connector is disassembled to access the flow disc to clear the blockage. The XT-3 operates from a standard 220VAC/50Hz household electrical power outlet (or optional 110VAC/60Hz). The sprayer system is self-contained, with the stainless steel tank, tank pressure valve and gauge, and air compressor mounted on a steel, two-wheel hand cart. Circulating air provides cooling of the air compressor, moving heat away from the compressor. The XT-3 dimensions are 1.07m X 0.46m X 0.61m and weighs 47.6 kg with the tank empty.

Electrostatic Spraying Systems Inc (ESS) SC-ET Electrostatic Sprayer

The ESS SC-ET electrostatic sprayer is ideal for light-duty, quick applications of antimicrobial coatings. The spray range of the SC-ET is up to 2.7 meters. The SC-ET incorporates a 4.7 litre (1.25 US Gal) internal tank for holding coating material. The non-metallic tank is permanently mounted in the sprayer case and has a recessed sump in the bottom of the tank for the spray (liquid) output connection and a drain line with an open/close valve in the line. The SC-ET utilizes the vacuum created by the air flow at the spraygun nozzle outlet to siphon coating liquid from the tank in the case to the spraygun. No pressure is applied to the liquid tank or the spray (liquid) line.

The SC-ET design relies on siphoning of the liquid from the tank, through the sprayer hose to the spraygun. ESS recommends the spraygun not be held above head height when using the SC-ET, as the sprayer may not function properly. The rate of flow of the SC-ET is not visibly indicated but is set to a predetermined rate of flow (approximately 78ml/min) by a selected flow disc. A flow disc is a small disc with an aperture (hole) in the center of the disc. The flow disc is located in the connector of the spray (liquid) hose which connects with the spraygun. The SC-ET rate of flow of coating material can be changed by changing the flow disc. Flow discs with different aperture sizes for different rates of flow are available.

The internal tank can be drained by opening the valve in the tank drain line. The SC-ET sprayer is 56cm X 41cm X 25cm and weighs 22 kg with an empty liquid tank.
